for Parents:
Help your child develop number-sense with lessons and activities you can do at home.
How does this work? We meet weekly in a small group consulting call with 3-6 parents. I walk you through a number-sense lesson plan and activity to do with your student, answer questions, and provide guidance for supporting and understanding your child numeracy development.
Who is this for? Parents with a dyscalculic child who would like personalized support and help with number-sense support at home. The target age of students is 6-13. (Contact me if your child is older to discuss.) Requires no teaching experience or love of math.
What materials will we be using? The lesson plans follow content mostly from Exploring Numbers through Dot Patterns (by Ronit Bird), with some material from other books by UK dyscalculia experts. We will cover foundational math concepts dyscalculics don't innately understand - critical concepts that keep them from grasping grade level math. Additional resources, activity videos, and access to my private podcast are provided through the private online platform, Circle.
When will we meet? We will meet on Zoom weekly for 1.5 hour sessions, for 6-weeks.
Dates: January 16, 23, 30, February 6, 13, (skip 20), 27
Times: Thursdays, 11:00am-12:30pm PT / 12:00-1:30 pm MT / 1:00-2:30 pm CT / 2:00-3:30 pm ET
What is the cost? The 6 weeks of group consult support plus lesson plans and activities is $600. Pay in full, or in 2 monthly installments of $300. You will need some basic learning materials (less than $20, depending on what you already have at home), and Ronit Bird's ebook ($12).
How much will this save me? Working with your own child can you thousands of dollars in tutoring costs. Plus you will learn so much in this process about your child's experience.

Navigating high school with dyscalculia (math learning disability) is difficult and lonely. The obstacles are many: little awareness and learning supports, feeling misunderstood, and weariness from students hearing they are lazy or not trying hard enough.

For three weeks we will meet on Zoom to talk about the high school challenges due to dyscalculia and other learning disabilities.
Meet other high school students with similar experiences.
Gain confidence in knowing what dyscalculia is and isn’t.
Talk about what to do when others don’t get it, and how to deal with difficult classes.
This is not a webinar or a class on dyscalculia. It's a safe space to share experiences, meet others with similar struggles, and discuss ideas on getting through high school with a little-known disability. As a mom of a dyscalculic high school student, I understand the challenges these students are facing. My goal is to provide a warm and welcoming space for them to be curious and collaborate with others in a similar situation.
Who can join: Students must be current high school students, grades 9-12. This group is for students who are comfortable enough on Zoom, and do not have behavioral challenges which may adversely impact a group experience. We will meet with cameras on, but students can choose whether to speak aloud or use the chat feature to ask questions and share ideas.
When: Mondays, 7:00-8:00pm Pacific Time on January 27, February 3, and February 10. Time Zone Conversion: 7:00-8:00 pm PT / 8:00-9:00 pm MT / 9:00-10:00 pm CT / 10:00-11:00 pm ET

They liked meeting other dyscalculic girls and hearing them talk about difficulties they also had. They felt less different, and less alone. One girl said she felt "calm" when we met together!
for middle school girls:
Middle school comes with many challenges. Being dyscalculic makes it even more complicated.
Understanding their dyscalculic mind is an important step in the developmental process of students learning who they are. But most dyscalculic students don’t really understand dyscalculia. And they feel lonely or embarrassed because they don’t see others who are similar in this way.
This group is just for middle school (6th-8th grade) girls. For four weeks we will meet on Zoom to talk about topics related to being dyscalculic. Each four-week session will focus on a different topic:
Schedules and Calendars: In this session, my dyscalculic high school daughter will join us to share the common struggle with time and ways she works through this challenge in daily life. January 21, January 28, February 4, February 11.
How to Talk to Teachers and Friends: In this session we will work together to find creative ways to be successful self-advocates in first understanding dyscalculia ourselves and then confidently speaking about it with peers and teachers. February 25, March 4, March 11, March 18.
This group is a safe space to share experiences, meet others with similar struggles, and discuss ideas on getting through middle school with a little-known disability. As a mom of a dyscalculic student (now in high school), I understand the challenges these students are facing. My goal is to provide a warm and welcoming space for them to be curious and collaborate with others in a similar situation.
Who can join: Students must be current middle school girls, or those who identify as she/her, in grades 6-8. This group is for students who are comfortable enough on Zoom, and do not have behavioral challenges which may adversely impact a group experience. We will meet with cameras on, but students can choose whether to speak aloud or use the chat feature to ask questions and share ideas.
When: Tuesdays evenings. 5:30-6:30 pm PT / 6:30-7:30 pm MT / 7:30-8:30 pm CT / 8:30-9:30 pm ET
Session on Schedules and Calendars begins January 21.
Session on How to Talk About begins February 25.
