“Just getting to connect with someone else who understands how my child needs to be taught in order to make progress in his math learning. It has been very isolating and lonely up until conversations with Laura that showed me the common ground that I share with other parents of dyscalculic kids. On top of that, feeling like I am finally doing something to help my kid with their learning difference, starting with the foundation to have a true understanding is really great."

"There were many things that were helpful: Having the lesson plans laid out for me saved me hours and hours of reading and planning and possibly going in the wrong direction if I were to tackle it on my own; your support and direction; hearing other's experiences."

"This has been fantastic! I love the prepared lessons. It has also been very helpful to connect with the other parents. I don't have any other feedback other than I want to keep going with this... It's much easier for me to tutor them with this activity based math vs. taking them to someone else."

"I truly appreciate your lessons. It’s really helped my confidence."
for Parents and educators:
Now for educators too!
Help your student develop number-sense with lessons and activities you can do at home, in tutoring, or in the special education classroom!
How does this work? Each week, you receive a new lesson and game/activity to do with your student to help develop their number-sense. But you will not be going it alone! I will walk you through each lesson and why it’s necessary for dyscalculic learners. With my weekly private messages via a podcast platform, you can listen while commuting, on a walk, or doing household tasks. Ask any questions you have that week in our group chat, and I will personally answer your question in the weekly private podcast.
Who is this for? Parents and educators working with a dyscalculic student who would like personalized support and help with lessons and games to help their student develop a better understanding of number. The target age of students is 6-12. (Contact me if your student is older to discuss.) Requires no teaching experience or love of math.
What materials will we be using? The lesson plans follow content from UK authors and dyscalculia experts: Ronit Bird, Jane Emerson, Patricia Babtie, Steve Chinn, Brian Butterworth, and Dorian Yeo. We will cover foundational math concepts dyscalculics don't innately understand - critical concepts that keep them from grasping grade level math.
Will we meet live? In order to accommodate busy schedules, this cohort will not meet live as it did before. You can participate with optional group chats, ask questions in the private online platform, and listen to the private podcast in your own time. New lessons and content will be posted each Friday.
Dates: This series is 6 weeks, beginning January 24.
What is the cost? $800. You will need some basic learning materials such as dice, counters, cards, and access to a printer for gameboards and lessons. This investment includes:
Printable step-by-step lesson plans including games/activities. Each weekly plan/activity should be repeated in at least (3) 20-30 minute sessions with your student.
6 audio recordings of lessons and the reasons behind what is taught, via a private podcast platform.
Your specific questions answered in an additional weekly private podcast episode.
Direct Message access with me for questions about your students particular progress and struggles. I will answer in Q&A private podcast.
Connect with others via comments, questions, and experiences shared in private platform (optional).
How much time will this save me? This program will save you countless hours reading about dyscalculia and trying to piece together learning material from various resources.
How much money will this save me? If you are a parent, working with your own child can save you thousands of dollars in dyscalculia math intervention tutoring costs. Plus you will learn so much in this process about your child's experience as a dyscalculic learner, so you can be a better advocate for them.
Was this a parent-only group before? Yes, it was! But with my new update and exciting change to not meet on Zoom and instead connect via a private podcast, this group is now available for parents AND educators!
