parent Reviews of this workshop
*
“I am finally doing something to help my kid with their learning difference, starting with the foundation to have a true understanding is really great."
*
"Having the lesson plans laid out for me saved me hours and hours of reading and planning and possibly going in the wrong direction if I were to tackle it on my own."
*
"This has been fantastic! I love the prepared lessons. I don't have any other feedback other than I want to keep going with this... It's much easier for me to tutor them with this activity based math vs. taking them to someone else."
*
"I truly appreciate your lessons. It’s really helped my confidence."
summer Number-Sense Support
for parents and educators
Help your student develop number-sense with lessons and activities you can do at home, through tutoring, or in the classroom!
Who is this for? Parents and educators working with a dyscalculic student who would like personalized support and help with lessons and games to help their student develop a better understanding of number. The target age of students is 5-12 years old. (Contact me if your student is older to discuss options.) Requires no teaching experience.
How does this work? Each week, for six weeks, you will receive a printable PDF lesson plan with games and activities to do with your student. Parents and educators will meet weekly with me on Zoom for 1.5 hours, where I will walk you through each lesson, answer any questions, and check in on how the lessons are going. You will repeat the lesson and activities 3-5 times that week, for about 20-30 minutes each time with your student.
What materials will we be using? Our main guide in this unit will be Ronit Bird’s book, Exploring Numbers through Dot Patterns. We will cover foundational math concepts dyscalculics don't innately understand - critical concepts that keep them from grasping grade level math. We will explore some of these foundational numeracy concepts in a multi-sensory and engaging way such as specific visuals for number 1-10, how numbers are inside other numbers, even/odd, and grouping, ways to make 10.
What supplies will I need? You will need some basic learning materials such as dice, counters, cards, and access to a printer for gameboards and lessons. (You will also need to purchase Ronit Bird’s ebook, Exploring Numbers Through Dot Patterns, about $12).
What is included:
Six printable step-by-step lesson plans including games and activities. Each weekly lesson or activity should be repeated in 3-5 sessions during that week. This gives you 18-30 individual math intervention sessions planned for you this summer.
Group coaching with me in 5 live Zoom calls, 1.5 hours each. (We only meet 5 times because I am on vacation one of the weeks, but you will still receive a lesson plan to follow that week). Ask questions, check in on how lessons are going with your student. Troubleshoot any sticking points.
Call replays will be available for a limited time for those who can’t make the live call.
Dates: We will meet live Tuesdays starting June 16, 10:00am - 11:30am PST
Tuesday, June 16
Tuesday, June 23
(we don’t meet live June 30)
Tuesday, July 7

What is the cost? $510 USD ($85 per week)
How much money will this save me? If you only do each lesson and activity 3 times each week with your student, you are paying less than $30 for a dyscalculia-specific “tuturing” session! Plus you will learn so much in this process about your student’s experience as a dyscalculic learner.
Is this for me? I will have a free live Q&A about this on Substack soon. Or for personalized guidance, book a 60-minute Consult Call so I can help you decide if this is your next best step or if something else would be better for your situation.
To learn more about how and why these lessons work, check inside my Substack (for paid subscribers) where you will find several articles about Math Education for Dyscalculia that explain this intervention.
Questions? Send me your questions in the link below.
I hope you will join me this summer!
I look forward to walking you through how to explore number-sense with your student.
We all need support from others who are doing this important work. Here are some experts who have supported me in my own journey. In it together!
